The coldest story ever told

I'm a superstitious person. My day depends on which lift arrives first when I press the button and my decisions lie upon whether the last count of a song is an odd or even number. And it's the same all the same all the same, I can't rid myself of habits as old as these. You're too good to be blamed on superstitions, coincidences, fates, kismet, destinies. They're the same all the same, all the same. Be that as it may, there's something different. I can't say, otherwise it'll stop being different. I'm a superstitious person.

Vespertine

It's haunting, your half-cocked smile, the empty road, the smell of rain. It paints a picture surreal, like a sad artist's final work. You reminded me of the four o'clock flower, an individual flower with myriads of rich colours. It's real, but I'd rather believe it's not. Things are better when they aren't true, mirabilis. Let's move on in the painting, till we disappear down that road, into the frames, where nobody can see us no more.

If we have to, we'll be back after five o'clock.

The Sun
It's 4.35pm on a Wednesday afternoon and the weather is so hot I want to be the Chinese superhero that shot down 9 suns. I can't stand it, why can't that stupid guy shoot down the last sun as well? On second thoughts, that story is so lame I doubt it's real. They probably came up with that story after realising oh, there's a sun in the sky, so some guy must have shot down 9 other suns before. I can also say,

Once upon a time, a really really long time ago, there used to be 786 moons. A guy on Earth was bored so he took out his bow and arrow, and started shooting moons for fun. So he shot down 785 moons and ran out of arrows. Despondent, he cried till his eyeballs fell out. He went blind, and so couldn't look where he was going, hence he stepped on his own eyeballs, slipped and fell and broke his back. Now that he's a Brokeback, some anti-gays-mob came over and clobbered him till his skull broke. With empty eye sockets, a broken back and a broken skull, Guy decides he's too sad a person to continue living. Hence he bite his own tongue till it came off, and swallowed it to choke himself to death. The End.

There! I just created my own folklore. Now you know how come we only have one moon!

Alright, I've been surfing other sites for 2hours now and kind of forgot to blog.

Byebye.

Photos

And now for everything else miscellaneous.

Thanks everyone who helped in one way or another in helping me decide, although ultimately I chose FASS for some unknown reasons like because they got send freshman guide. And my parents, of course, they don't seem to realise NTU exist in Singapore. (Serious, they thought NTU was foreign, and asked me why I apply for foreign university when NTU sent their letter.) And to think my father is a taxi driver, I wonder where he drives to when NTU kids tell him uncle, NTU.

Alright, I guess I'll post some pictures later, taken from Making Popiah Day at Bug's house last week, and the picnic at Marina Barrage yesterday. I'm uploading them now. The uploading is super fast, I'm amazed, 140 images took less than 30secs! (amazed)

Pictures! :D

Popiah making day at Sheralyn's house took place on 15May, that is last Friday. So I left office at 6pm, took 700 to Bukit Panjang and my, her house is so convenient can. It's like 5 minutes away from Bukit Panjang Plaza, and 2 minutes away from the interchange, how cool is that?

Here's a picture of her house, I was waiting for this car of CHINA CHINESE to pass. They were driving past with the windows rolled down and speaking in loud CHINA CHINESE wondering where some place they want to go to is.

Can I digress. I can't stand China Chinese, why is Singapore overflowing with them? It's impossible to take MRT from Woodlands to Dhoby Ghaut without meeting one of them on train, in the same cabin as you, speaking to buddy in loud who-knows-what-they're-shouting-about Chinese. They can't speak softly huh huh huh huh HUH.

Anyway, I reached Bug's house after directions over the phone, and oh! I met Zhihao and Derek there! :D Bugs lives on the 23rd (highest) floor and Mel opened the door and pulled me in eagerly to see a qian nian lao gui, which in our (normal) terms means Bug's very old turtle/tortoise.

View from her house. She has a windy balcony and I wish I've a house like that too. Not too noisy and not too ulu either. Some days I get so annoyed by 901 (feeder bus to my house) because they either take forever to come, or come two at once.

I was very amazed by her clock. It reminds me of Persistence of Memory, aka this.

Anyway, we started making popiahs after Yixin came.

The ingredients!

That's Yixin and Bugs.

My first (inexperienced) attempt at making a popiah.

This is my first (INEXPERIENCED) popiah. I know it's square, stop rubbing it in. It's my first time making a popiah.

My second attempt at making an Artistic Popiah, aka AP. Somehow it turned out looking like squidward. D:

This is how AP eventually looks like. It's thin, and flat, and it's like Bian Piah, instead of Popiah. But Bian Piah sounds really funny.

This is Bugs and her mini Popiah, aka MP. (OMG BUGS YOU ATE A MP!) Okay I should stop cracking jokes like these, sometimes I can't stand myself being so funny. -laughs

Alright, that's about all. Then we sat in Bugs' room and talked for a few hours about nothing in particular. We were trying to plan a picnic (which took place yesterday) but after a few hours the only thing we decided on was the date, and the place. Aha.

Jiahao did you know you entertained us for about 2 hours because we kept talking about your head. Like Landmarking (Meet 2pm at The Head, don't be late!) and things like NUS and University of London having to accept you at the same time (Is that his eye in my lecture hall?) and things like little people swimming in your eyes and playing hide and seek in your hair. Okay I shall be nice since it's Sunday and not joke about your head today. -laughs all the same-

Anyway, picnic yesterday at Marina Barrage turned out pretty well, in fact better than I expected. Pictures! :D

Sandwiches that I made! :D

It was raining super heavily when I left the house. Lucky it rained though, so when we reached there the weather wasn't really that hot (but humid all the same).

Here's Felix who said he zhang da le (grown up) and will not pose for every single photo we take of him anymore. I thought he looked really different though, perhaps because of the cap, and I thought Hongjie brought his friend along when I saw them from far. Ha.

Marcus!

The barrage at perfect weather. It's a really pretty place and I like it alot. I don't mind going there for a picnic again, especially in the evening when it's not so hot.

Pretty skies! :D

Hongjie, Siyuan and Jiaxiang. I think Hongjie and Siyuan had the classic NDP poster feel. It's candid though, I didn't make them smile looking in the distance like that.

Speaking of NDP, please go online and ballot for NDP tickets. If you don't want the tickets, you can always give them to me, I've been wanting to go NDP since forever. You just have to key in your IC No and contact number here.

Alright, back to pictures.

Marc and Felix! They became super tanned.

Cute dog that we spotted! :D

Cute little girl! :D

All botaks! I've no idea what Felix was doing to Marcus too. ._.

Towards the end of the day the sky got darker, beautiful shade isn't it!

Random kids playing around.

Pretty kites in the sky. There were quite a number of Batman kites, they are probably sold there. And we witnessed the fall of Batman a couple of times, haha.

:)

Barrage at night.

At 7plus, close to 8pm.

Yixuan finally came when we packed up. Aha then we went to the pavilions where it's brighter to play the cards he took pains to find. We left the place at 10plus after taking a couple of group photos. They are in Bugs's camera though, my battery went flat.

It's so mega far away and the shuttle bus to Marina Bay has already stopped operating. We took some random 400 to some random Shenton Way and then we walked to Tanjong Pagar MRT and took a really long MRT ride home. I reached home at 12+, stupid feeder bus. You know I waited super long for the last bus to come, and then when it finally came, the door was faulty and cannot be opened. So it drove off, the uncle saying he'll drive another bus here. I wondered how he got out of the bus whose door cannot be opened. ._.

Alright, that's all. I'll go post the uni thing now. Jogging later at Tampines with Pris and Naomi! :)
