We're at this stage in life where we reminisce too much of our near past, worry too much about our near future, are
too clueless about everything that can, will, may happen to us, think we know alot, think we don't know anything,
am confident about the wrong things, take pride in wasting time away, want too much but want to do too little.

Class Spirit
Well I don't really know how to start this entry.
3 months into NJ and I remember myself repeating n times that I'm not going to join badminton again because 4 years is enough and I want to try something new and yada yada. But, I still ended up in badminton. And yes, I'm glad I joined it.
2 months into the team and I feel more belonging than in the class I've been in for the past three months. Haaaaaaa.
People tell me it's the same for all second intakers. The first intakers stick together, and unless your class is a full first intaker class or a full second intaker class, don't expect any bonding (not even Van der Waal's) to take place.
I used to say, that's bullshit. Because twosix and fourone had two years too. And covalence, leh. But I realise now, it's different in JC altogether. Life gets busy, two years to chiong for A's. And there is a first intaker and second intaker gap that seems impossible to bridge. For my class, there are a few more second intakers than first intakers. But there's many other first intakers who remain sub-S18. Meaning they're now in other classes, other schools even, but they continue to be S18 because "the S18 spirit remains forever".
It gets to the point they organise ex-S18 gatherings, chalet etc. And I was almost propelled to organise a second-intaker gathering meant for second intakers only. Just for the fun of it. No lah, just joking.
It's not that the first intakers are totally unfriendly towards the second intakers, not those kind of you-step-one-step-closer-and-I'll-stab-you. They are all nice people, but if given the choice, they'll trade us for their first intake classmates. Because "the new S18 is not hip at all" (quote one of their blogs, I think they never expected any second intaker to read it, but well).
Class spirit? Yea, S18 has damn lots of class spirit. Three months ago. Tell me about moving on.
It's almost too much drama. And I wonder what'll happen if I stayed in Innova and be called a first intaker. Ha. (According to gillian, the first intakers don't mingle with newcomers in the class too.)
But it's not like all the classes are like that are they. There're classes that covalent even with first and second intakers in the class. Hanhui's? Jiahao's? I don't know, and I don't really care anymore. I'll care even less after blogging this entry. I've given up bonding with the class. Not that I bothered in the first place. It's how the first intakers go on about their previous S18 and their latest plans for a S18 gathering (first intakers only) that makes me want to sing Mary Had A Little Lamb.
If given a choice, I wouldn't choose to be there, take up a place, and "force an ex-S18 out into another class". PCME classes are rampant, any other class will mean the same to me at the start. And perhaps mean much more right now. You get what I mean.

I feel sick.
So I was saying, I think if this goes on, my life will revolve around NJ Badminton very soon. It's how the environment shapes you.
HEY. YOUR ATTITUDE DETERMINES EVERYTHING. IF YOU WANT YOUR CLASS TO BE BONDED, DO SOMETHING!
No. That's the problem you see, I don't want my class to be bonded, not anymore. First intakers can live in their ex-S18 for all I care. :D

Too bad there weren't archives. Entries were more fun to read during the first two weeks of Term 2. With all the "S18 is not the same anymore" yada yada yada.
There are some first intakers who read my blog, no hard feelings but this really is the case. And I know you know it as well.
